Mission

Your mission is to lead major projects assigned by CPV Shanghai R&D manager, from feasibility to hand-over to ESD (Engineering Support Department) through development milestones and ensure follow-up up to 6 months after sales launch.

Major Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • ensure that the best technical solutions are provided in order to fulfil Project Proposal (PP) targets regarding consolidated profitability, customer satisfaction, high quality & reliability, on-time delivery.
  • monitor project tasks according to development process and ensure respect of time plan and PMS (Product Master Specification) content with the support of skilled project members.
  • communicate project progress regularly both internally and externally in a timely manner to ensure correct information level inside project team all along the development process.
  • ensure that all risks are well understood by project members at each milestone. Risk analysis should be based on tests, return of experience, or simulation.
  • ensure best decision is taken after review and approval from involved team members when modification of PMS is required. You should also ensure that information is sent in appropriate time and manner to project members and supplier.
  • refer immediately to R&D manager in case of problem with a project member or project deviation (quality, cost, time)
  • ensure the project is handed over to ESD with all necessary information and confirmed good quality level.

Projects Definition

  • Lead feasibility study based on PP request to trigger Development phase:
  • Market analysis and customer needs identification with support from Marketing and R&D,
  • Technical analysis and cost investigation with support from Purchasing and R&D,
  • Time plan estimation and necessary resources availability confirmation,
  • Profitability confirmation by financial analysis with support from Marketing and Finance
  • Create Product Technical Specification with support from Marketing and R&D.
  • Create PMS in collaboration with Marketing, Purchasing and R&D

Project planning, Project management

  • Ensure development according to PMS content all along the project (technical specification, cost, planning).
  • Monitor progress of each task along the project. In case of deviation from one project member, inform project member’s direct manager and R&D manager.
  • Update FI (Financial Investment) and PMS content and get approval from Project members at each milestone or each time project definition is modified.
  • Monitor resources and competences need versus availability all along the project and inform R&D manager in advance in case of deviation.
  • Monitor expenses linked to the project and inform R&D manager in advance in case of deviation.
  • Prepare, follow-up and consolidate feedback from Field tests done by customers identified by Marketing, with support from Marketing and R&D.
  • Request and follow creation of product documentation by ESD team.
To succeed, you will need

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in an engineering related field, including at least 2 years of engineering implementation and at least 1 year project management experience.
  • 2 years of mechanical/electrical designing is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good knowledge about project management tools, theory and goal setting.
  • Knowledge about Pneumatic tools and Vehicle service products, including workshop equipment and battery tools.
  • Good understanding of competition and product positioning.
  • Good understanding of mechanical design. Understanding of electrical design is a plus.
  • Understanding of 3D-CAD software (preferably Creo/ProEngineer).
  • Perfect understanding of MS Office
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin): technical and business level.
