Your Role
Your Role:
In this position, you will ensure the company meets its Key Performance Indicators for Credit and Collections. You will support credit activity for the Customer Center and perform all actions according to General Standard of Conduct.
You will also:
- Be responsible for the prompt collections of the AR customer assignment portfolio.
- Maintain and update the AR system within SAP with action taken and correspondence between customer regarding issues impacting payment.
- Work with sales employees and the customer in the management of disputes and collection activity for their customer assigned area.
- Log all disputes in the AR system within SAP.
- Assist the OTC team in identifying how to apply customer payments when there are questions.
- Ensure that unapplied credits are resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitor and report on collection activities assigned to them.
- Obtain and maintain sales tax exemption certificates to enter into the sales tax program (Vertex).
- Assist in gathering required information to establish a new customer within the AR system.
- Review financial and payment information relevant for recommending credit lines. Send recommendation to Business Controller for final approval and setup.
- Responsible for creating customer accounts in SAP.
- Maintain current and accurate customer information in customer credit files.
- Responsible for calculating monthly bad debt reserve.
- Be responsible for releasing orders that go on hold for credit reasons. This includes review of customer’s credit profile and payment history to determine if the credit line should be adjusted.
- Be prepared at any time to discuss the status on delinquent account with Business Controller or VP of Business Control.

To succeed, you will need
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in a credit and collections role preferably in an industrial environment. Previous experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a related major; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels within the Company.
- Able to maintain a high level of credit and collections knowledge, and to demonstrate the capacity to develop a solid understanding of our business software (SAP) as it relates to all financial transactions.
- Assist, when necessary, in the preparation of Business Review and Board meetings.
- Demonstrate strong skills in Excel.
- Share knowledge with colleagues and actively work to raise the competence level of the group.
- Self-motivated individual who is dedicated and willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
