Chicago Pneumatic manufacturers a complete range of portable air compressors, tools and accessories with the aim to maximize customers’ sustainable productivity.

The Atlas Copco Power Technique Customer Center sells and services the customers in the area through a combination of direct sales and a dealer network. The area comprises the whole South American continent (except Brazil). We are headquartered in Santiago, Chile (covering Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) and in Lima, Peru (which incorporates Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador. Venezuela, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire and Guyana).

Your Role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible, with direction from the Regional General Manager, for maximizing the sales and profitability of the Chicago Pneumatic (CP) Portable Air Capital Equipment business in the Power Technique South America Customer Center region (Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Bonaire, Chile, Colombia, Curaçao, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela), ensuring high quality customer support and information to internal and external customers. 
The position is responsible for the P&L of the CP APE product line through the development of specific Strategy and Tactics that may result in a top-of-class committed distributors network which may grow our market share, sustainable and profitable growth, providing excellent outputs to all stakeholders.
Working in a team environment, the BDM should be able to work unsupervised on complex analysis tasks and with a general understanding of their impact on the business.

In accordance with business objectives the responsibilities include:

  1. Development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies that maximize profitable and sustainable sales growth for the division.
  2. Pricing strategies that ensure the target profitability and growth levels.
  3. Management and development of the sales and service resources and processes to maximize effectiveness.
  4. Negotiation of distributorship agreements and sales contracts.
  5. Development and Leadership of a dedicated CP distributor network adapted to the CP Value Proposition.
  6. Development and Leadership of a dedicated team that may provide high quality services to internal and external customers according to the business needs, in cooperation with other internal resources and teams.
  7. Reporting on deviations from planned results and the development and implementation of remedial actions.
  8. Determining and maintaining minimum working capital and functional costs guidelines to support the business.
  9. Maximizing the efficient use of assets and resources.
  10. Active and Proactive participation in management meetings as required. 
  11. Supporting the internal and external audit procedures.
  12. Adhere to the core values of commitment, innovation and interaction and operate with a philosophy of continuous improvement.
  13. Ensure adherence to company Occupational Health & Safety and Quality and Business Code of Practice policies and procedures.

To succeed you will need

Education requirements

  • Technical degree or similar by experience. 
  • Business degree or similar by experience, MBA is a Plus
  • Fluency in Spanish and English are mandatory. Other languages are a plus.
     

Knowledge, skills and experience requirements

  • Good working knowledge of the ERP and CRM systems. SAP solutions will be a plus.
  • Experience in Marketing and Sales of Capital Equipment B2B.
  • People management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced computer skills and aptitude, particularly MS Office.
  • Experience of working within a team. 
  • Understanding of large company processes and procedures.
