Parsons, better known in welding circles and social media as “Barbie the Welder,” is a self-taught artist, author, and motivational speaker known for her unique welded sculpture and life-size metal creations. Parsons has created a one-of-a-kind metal sculpture for the Chicago Pneumatic booth at the November FABTECH Expo in Chicago. Along the way, she documented the creative process on social media, and showcased the Chicago Pneumatic industrial tools she used in the making of the piece.
Having Barbie represent Chicago Pneumatic is a natural fit for our brand. Through her work, end users will see more of the wide-ranging capabilities of Chicago Pneumatic industrial tools.
Arguably one of the most-recognized metal fabricators on social media, Parsons began her career as a sheet metal fabricator before committing to work full-time as an independent artist in 2014. Since then she has created commissioned art for individuals and corporations, and her work has been on display at trade shows and exhibits around the country. “I’m deeply honored that Chicago Pneumatic asked me to partner with them,” said Parsons. “They’re a passionate, innovative company that makes durable tools, and I’m a passionate, innovative artist who’s tough on my tools— we’re a great match!" The FABTECH project is just the start of Chicago Pneumatic’s partnership with Parsons. Olsowske said he anticipates Parsons’ unorthodox use of these industrial tough tools will introduce the Chicago Pneumatic brand to up-and-coming audiences. “Success is achieved by grinding away everything that doesn’t look like success, and when you have the right tools it’s so much easier,” added Parsons. Parsons’ project will be on display at the Chicago Pneumatic booth during the FABTECH Expo, November 11-14 in Chicago. There, Chicago Pneumatic will also showcase the extended lineup of its popular CP3550 series of industrial grinders. Find them in booth B13089.
