Chicago Pneumatic wins U.S. PR award

Chicago Pneumatic was awarded Overall Best PR Program at the 2008 Automotive Communications Awards during the APPEX Tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada. Presented by the Car Care Council Women's Board, those responsible for Chicago Pneumatic communications were thrilled to be recognized for their creative public relations initiatives.

The T2 School of the Year Competition

Chicago Pneumatic partnered with specialist magazine Tomorrow‘s Technician to promote the education of future technicians and honor the best automotive technical schools in the US. More than 170 schools applied for the honor of being named T2 School of the Year. The winning schools participated in a celebratory event hosted by Chicago Pneumatic and Tomorrow‘s Technician, received nationwide publicity, and received Chicago Pneumatic tools worth thousands of dollars.

Monthly newsletter Cranked Up Conversation

In an effort to directly reach Chicago Pneumatic customers, the communications team created Cranked Up Conversation, a dynamic monthly e-newsletter. The newsletter features captivating cover designs, industry-specific content, and promotional materials, and is distributed to more than 5,000 customers every month.

Media relations

News about Chicago Pneumatic products was generated by face-to-face meetings with more than 30 members of the industry media at trade shows and more than 20 news releases announcing new products and company news.
From August 2007 to July 2008 the media relations program generated:
  •  193 feature articles and product placements across 73 trade publications
  • Articles that reached a total circulation of more than 5.8 million
  • Articles with an ad equivalency of roughly $330,000
