I get a lot of satisfaction out of opening the Chicago Pneumatic catalogue and saying ‘that’s my design.’ There’s something special about seeing a 3D drawing come to life. I feel proud when I see one of our tools used in a TV show or when we put a prototype tool in a field test and get feedback from the operator.
It’s always fascinating to learn what they like, what they want improved, why they prefer our tools to a competitor’s. Personally, I’m most proud of the design and mechanical improvements I made to one of our motors in collaboration with my team. We work on over 100 items annually.
When people ask me what I enjoy about working at Chicago Pneumatic, I tell them it’s the dynamic environment and the high level of R&D. It makes us very flexible, which is important because we work on different products for different markets and we always have to stay one step ahead of our competitors.
